- window size selection
- frequency zooming
- freeze
- peak hold
- cursor information (amplitude+frequency)

hi

i like this tool!

very nice features and the graphic is really pretty!

there's only one thing i'd like: a knob to adjust the release-time, because it's a bit to nervous to me.

I agree, I was just too lazy to add another knob, maybe it's too fast.

Is there an unintaller for OSX?

AFAIK there's no uninstaller for OSX when using pkg.

Hello,

THIS is what the doctor ordered! Please continue to develop it - there's a big void (at least in Mac OS X) for a good spectrum analyzer!

As soon as it has averaging implemented, I'll happily donate for it!

Good work - please keep it up!

help! i really want to try the Freakoscope, but am not able to get it going. i installed the win32 version (i use a PC), but the only things that appear in the folder are

1) an internet shortcut
2) an uninstaller
3) a DAT file, and
4) a dll file

do i need to use the "open with" command on one of these?

Beats Waves PAZ as far as I'm concerned. A couple of comments:

a) the legend above the button to the left of "Freeze" doesn't show up in the version I just installed.

b)it would be better to implement the display type picker as separate buttons or as a pull-down - one click instead of 5 every time you need to cycle through.

Cheers :P

AN IDEA !
How about showing multiple FFT from A FEW sequencer tracks at once - each with its own colour ? Of course it requires another plugin to send data from those tracks. And... it could even identify frequency clashes lasting longer than user defined time ;-) !

Have a very nice day,

Sebastian

This is a great tool. I was looking for something like Spectrafier. The only advantage to this tool is Spectrafier can be used as a channel insert or as a master effect to show the levels of various frequency bands. You can also click on a band in the display to hear just that band. This can be useful when trying to determine what equalizer setting can be used to fix a problem. - The disadvantage is that it's only for mac.

Hey, the program looks great, but how come when I install the package for OSX nothing happens. I run a search and come up with nothing. Where is it installing?

At 2:16 AM, Blogger mdsp said...

the setup.pkg file installs the plugin in /libray/Audio/Plug-Ins/VST/

but you can also copy Fre(a)koscope.vst manually to $(Home)/Library/Audio/Plug-Ins/VST/

Hey mdsp, you didn't respond to djmikec's comment cuz I'm having the same problem. Cubase, Reason, or FLStudio won't open the dll file and I don't have any dat file.
I'd really like to try this plugin.

It's almost perfect, but come short of spectrum averaging until...
Forgive me my bad English.

im using a macbook and this doesn't show in my vst plugin list. im guessing it is not universal binary?

if not, can you make it UB please? :)

Thanks

Hello, I love Freakoscope and use it regularly while mixing live sound in order to give me a visual aid in identifying things that I'm hearing. One small complaint, though: the display in the top-right corner of the window which indicates the frequency and level represented by the position of the last mouse click ends up being very small and somewhat difficult to read from a distance at higher resolutions (for example, 1680x1050 on my laptop's 15.4" screen). I would greatly appreciated the ability to increase the size (and perhaps the darkness or colour) of the letters and numbers in this display. Thanks for making such an excellent analysis plugin! It has helped me to sharpen my listening and eq-ing abilities.
